Language Centre offers modules/courses for all those from abroad who are interested in:


working, or who already work and live in Slovakia and need to communicate in their workplace;

learning to communicate in the Slovak language;

studying in the Slovak language at one of the faculties of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava;

completing their knowledge of other technical subjects;

                   

Individual modules/courses are in both Slovak and English language.

Module SLOVAK LANGUAGE  A (MSJA)        Module GUIDE FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS (MGFA)

(50 hours A1 – 175 €; 50 hours A2 – 175 €)

Graduate profile

The graduate will receive four language skills at the required (Basic A) level, i.e., reading comprehension, listening comprehension, basic oral and written communication of everyday life.

Graduate profile

The graduate will acquire knowledge of the life and institutions of Slovakia and useful information that he/she will utilize during his/her stay in Slovakia. Life in Slovakia (transport, insurance, health and medical care, ...), work (recognition of documents and qualifications), study possibilities (conditions, organization and structure of study, recognition of documents, scholarships, internships, accommodation ...), formalities (entry and residence visas, ...), consulting (useful addresses and contacts ...).

Module SLOVAK LANGUAGE B (MSJB) 
 Module INTENSIVE SLOVAK LANGUAGE (MISL)

(120 hours B1 – 420 €; 120 hours B2 – 420 €)

Graduate profile

The graduate will acquire four language skills at the required (Medium B) level, i.e., reading comprehension, listening comprehension, the required oral and written communication skills. He/she can orient himself/herself in everyday situations, use common vocabulary, describe his/her activities. He/she can make small talks at unofficial and official levels.

REGISTRATION FORM MSJB

The module is designed for students who want to study
at the chosen faculty STU
in Slovak Language.

(640 hours 2240 € – winter term 320 hours, summer term 320 hours).

Graduate profile

The graduate will achieve four language skills at the required (advanced) level, i.e., reading comprehension, listening comprehension, basic oral and written communication on everyday topics by means of instructional materials contained in the respective lessons of textbooks, and basic technical terminology of technical fields of study. He/she can independently communicate, describe everyday activities, orient himself/herself in time and space, express past actions, complete a questionnaire, write his/her CV.

Module BASIC OF WORKING WITH PC 
(MBWPC)

Graduate profile

The graduate will have knowledge in Basics of working with PCs. He will be prepared for pursuing the study programme in the selected faculty of the STU. He will adapthis professional knowledge to the conditions of practice.

Organization of teaching

Teaching takes place in the morning, respectively, in the afternoon,
a study group consists of 8 to12 people.

Teachers are specialized in teaching Slovak as a foreign language.

Methods

Lectures (interpretation of theory), demonstration forms (samples of interpreted subject matter at concrete  examples, samples of subjects), teamwork (dialogues, situational games), self-study, individual study.

Technical equipment, teaching aids

Modern air-conditioned classrooms in the city center. Work desks, PC, overhead projectors, screens, VCR, flipchart, study texts in print, CD, online, data projector.

Continuous assessment

Tests, oral communication.

Final assessment

Final test (with a success rate above 60%) and controlled interview.                                                                                      




Language Centre

provides the additional modules / courses in Slovak / English language for all those interested from abroad: Module PHYSICS, Module ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING, Module GEOLOGY. The modules have been accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic in 2011.

Module ENGLISH LANGUAGE A (MELA) 

(beginners 40 hours A1  ̶  140 €;  advanced 40 hours A2  ̶  140 €)

Graduate profile

The graduate will acquire necessary vocabulary, verbal skills in communicative situations in oral communication and writing in English, and will master basic technical terminology of technical fields of study.

Graduate profile

The graduate will be equipped with knowledge of Mathematics in theoretical and practical applications and will be prepared for pursuing the study programme in the selected faculty of the STU. He will adapt his professional knowledge to the conditions of practice.
