Abstract:
This publication presents nine problem-oriented tasks in the fields of forming, surface engineering, reverse engineering, and business process management, which are the result of close cooperation between authors from the academic research and education community and partners from industry. The publication combines the authors' scientific research results with knowledge verified by industrial practice, providing a specific set of knowledge and experience that contributes to the development of knowledge and further education in the field.
In Chapters 1 and 2, the publication provides an overview of solutions to selected problems in the field of optimizing the production of small-diameter seamless tubes at Železiarne Podbrezová, a. s. and electrical cable wires at Vicente Torns Slovakia a. s., Veľké Kosihy.
Chapters 3 to 5 deal with examples of various technologies for modifying the functional properties of surfaces and the problems associated with them. Chapter 3 focuses on explaining the procedures for characterizing special diamond-like coatings, Chapter 4 analyzes in detail practical experience with surface treatments of functional parts of tools used in sheet metal forming processes, and Chapter 5 explains in detail the influence of the working environment on the roughness and surface wettability of a laser-modified surface of a titanium-based powder biocomposite material.
Chapters 6 and 7 are devoted to the issue of industrial process management, presenting the possibilities of agile production process management in an international information technology company and autonomous maintenance at Peikko Slovakia, spol. s r. o., Trnava.
The field of reverse engineering is covered by case studies in Chapters 8 and 9. While the Chapter 8 addresses the problem of data processing, specifically by applying a combination of passive and active triangulation methods in the digitization of 3D objects, Chapter 9 focuses on the issue of reverse geometric modeling in the reconstruction of additively manufactured components.
