Description:

The laboratory is dedicated to the presentation of traditional and non-traditional renewable energy sources - biomass. There is a prototype device for the production of bioethanol and biogas, in the laboratory utilization of biomass. It is used for promotional and educational purposes; this means that the prototype is accessible to the general public and experts. The aim is to inform how we can produce bioethanol in laboratory scale. There are cutting mill, sterilizers, water bath, rotary evaporator IKA, laboratory equipment for bioethanol production; and laboratory equipment for biodiesel production as well.

 

Projects:

This non-traditional use of biomass is part of the European Union project, which falls under the Strategic Reference Framework 2007-2013, the operational program "Research and Development". The project with name "Hybrid power source for technical and consulting laboratory of utilization and promotion of renewable energy" (ITMS 26220220056) were cofinanced from resources of the European Regional Development Fund. The strategic aim of project was construct prototype of hybrid power source based renewable energy source (hydropotential, solar energy, biogas and bioethanol from biomass) for long-term testing and promotion.
