AUTHOR IDENTIFICATORS
An author/researcher identifier represents a unique code that clearly identifies the author in the scientific environment as confusion often arises between authors with the same name. Assigning a unique identifier to each author is the best solution for working in the scientific environment and the publishing process.
What benefits does an author identifier bring?
- Publications will be searchable regardless of the variant of the name used (abbreviated 1.names, name matching...)
- Better availability and searchability of scientific outputs
- Certainty that the publications are assigned to the correct author
Used identifiers:
- Scopus = Scopus Author ID
- Web of Science = ResearcherID / Publons
- ORCID ID - ORCID ID
