The staff week is the annual event that is organized by the International Relations Office at Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. It is aimed to exchange good practices and ideas between administration workers from all of Europe, discuss topics related to managing international projects, strengthen current partnerships between universities and create new contacts. This year it was held from 24 April until 28 April in Bratislava. Program provided participants with a comprehensive and enriching experience.
It began with the presentation of the STU that familiarized them with the history, faculties, and academic opportunities offered by the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. The participants also gained insights into the local culture and traditions of Slovakia, encouraging them to explore and embrace new experiences. The program's focus on sustainability was a highlight of the second day, with discussions, talks, and workshops promoting environmentally responsible practices. Participants learned about green offices and sustainable entrepreneurship, gaining valuable knowledge on how businesses can support economic growth while prioritizing environmental responsibility. The opportunity to handcraft sustainable pouches further emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in everyday life.
The third day featured engaging discussions on the use of electronic working platforms and their impact on paper-based processes. Participants explored the advantages and disadvantages of EWP, fostering a deeper understanding of their implementation in the workplace. An excursion to the Scientific Park at the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava provided an interactive way to learn about the latest scientific developments. The networking session on the fourth day facilitated connections and collaborations among colleagues from various departments and institutions. Presentations on Erasmus+ mobility and International Credit Mobility highlighted the opportunities available for staff and students to study and work abroad. The introduction to the EULIST initiative showcased the importance of building alliances between universities to enhance cooperation and innovation in higher education. On the fifth and final day, the visit to the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum offered a captivating journey through contemporary art.
In summary, the staff week program hosted by IRO STU provided a well-rounded route that combined academic, cultural, and artistic experiences. Participants gained knowledge about the university, sustainability practices, technological advancements, and international opportunities.
