Simultaneously, she has also become the laureate of the Student Personality of Slovakia Award for Natural Sciences and Chemistry and the Uniqa Award for sustainability.
Since her Bachelor studies at the STU Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology in Bratislava, Ing. Miroslava Mališová, PhD. has been working on the development of advanced motor fuels, while trying to find alternatives to motor fuels based on the plants of other than a food character.
"Currently, we work on the project dealing with linseed sowing, a plant being originally considered a weed, but having a great potential for its high oil content. We also have a project for using coffee waste," stated Miroslava for the Pravda daily.
Already during her Master studies, she wrote two scientific publications and won two 1st and one 3rd places at the international student scientific conferences. During her doctoral studies, she represented Slovakia as a delegate at the forum for young future leaders, organized by the World Petroleum Council. She also received important awards, such as the St. Gorazd Award granted by the Ministry of Education, Science and Research, or Commendation of the Dean. She became a holder of four different scholarships and a researcher in three scientific projects. She completed a scientific internship at the Technical University of Vienna at the Department of Physical Chemistry, where she focused on the topic of catalytic processing of CO2 greenhouse gas into valuable raw materials. She represented her Faculty, Department and her research submitting a total of 23 contributions at foreign and domestic conferences; she is the main author of six scientific publications with a total citation response of 34.
