At its meeting on Wednesday 23 April 2025, the Electoral Assembly of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava elected Professor Maximilián Strémy as the candidate for Rector of the STU for the 2025-2029 term of office. He will take up the position after being appointed by the President of the Slovak Republic and after expiration of the term of office of Oliver Moravčík, the current Rector.
Prof. Ing. Maximilián Strémy, PhD., the current STU Vice-Rector for Strategic Projects, Development, Innovation and Practice, received the necessary majority of votes of the STU Electoral Assembly, which, according to the Law, consists of members of the STU Administrative Board and the STU Academic Senate.

The public hearing examined the candidate's managerial experience, his relationship to higher education, science and technology as well as to the mission and field of the STU operation. The candidate presented his own vision, proposed strategy for the STU development and responded questions from members of the STU Electoral Assembly.
