On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, representatives of Slovak universities involved in European university alliances met at Trnava University. The aim of the meeting was to exchange experiences, present new initiatives, and discuss how to further connect Slovak universities with the European academic space.
The meeting began with speeches by the management of the host university and representatives of the Ministry of Education, who emphasized that participation in European alliances is crucial for Slovakia: it brings higher-quality study programs, greater student mobility, and new opportunities for researchers and teachers.

The morning session focused on linking European universities with other networks and how to strengthen strategic partnerships. This was followed by a panel discussion on mobility, which raised the question of how to set up the system so that stays abroad become a natural part of studies.
In the afternoon, attention focused on joint study programs, double degrees, and micro-certificates, topics that are increasingly shaping modern higher education. Participants shared examples of good practice from various universities and discussed what could simplify their implementation in Slovakia.
The event concluded with an open discussion on the successes and challenges of European alliances. Cooperation between Slovak universities in this area makes sense and brings concrete results: from new study opportunities to stronger ties between academic institutions across Europe.
