The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, one of the most important technical universities in Central Europe, successfully represented Slovakia at the prestigious NAFSA International Conference, the world's largest forum focused on the internationalization of higher education. STU's participation confirmed the University's growing international reputation and its strong position in the field of education, research and global academic cooperation.
At the Conference, STU was represented by Mikuláš Bittera, the STU Bursar, and Terézia Hubáčková of the STU International Relations Office. They participated in a series of bilateral negotiations with universities from all over the world, and besides establishing new strategic contacts, STU also significantly strengthened existing partnerships. The negotiations focused primarily on the development of joint research activities, student and teacher mobility, as well as building international projects and innovative forms of cooperation.
STU received an exceptionally positive response particularly from universities of non-European countries, which expressed a strong interest in cooperation with the University in the areas of top-notch technical education, applied research and innovation. STU thus reaffirmed its attractiveness as a respected partner for academic institutions on a global level.
One of the key goals of STU's participation in the conference was to expand the network of strategic partnerships and deepen international cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) programs and the EULiST aAlliance of European universities, of which STU is an active member.
The outcome of STU's mission in the Conference comprises several promising partnerships with renowned universities and institutions from the Latin America to Asia, such as the University of Florida and the University of Texas at Austin (USA), Bar-Ilan University and Technion University (Israel), National Taiwan University, National University of La Matanza (Argentina), University Ramon Llull (Spain), University of Strathclyde (Great Britain) and Leibniz University of Hannover (Germany).
