Representatives from the EULiST Alliance’s partner universities met in Finland at LUT University from May 11–13 for the General Assembly. The aim of the meeting was to evaluate the alliance’s development to date, strengthen cooperation among universities, and discuss further joint projects in the fields of education, research, and innovation.

A delegation from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava actively participated in expert panel discussions and presentations. Natália Gurská represented the local coordinators on the alliance coordination panel, Peter Klimáček represented the Research and Innovation work package, Peter Morgenstein presented a system of sustainability demonstrators, Gregor Rozinaj presented AI tools developed by EULiST, and Milan Husár gave a presentation on sustainability and the SDGs.

STU local coordinator Natália Gurská commented on the EULiST General Assembly: “You can feel that, as a consortium, we are moving toward achieving our common goals. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but at the same time, I see a huge shift at the STU level. I am pleased that as many as five colleagues from STU presented their work at this General Assembly.”

During the General Assembly, a partnership with the University of Stuttgart was also announced, making it the alliance’s newest partner institution. This expanded collaboration opens up new opportunities for student mobility, joint research, and international projects.
One of the key messages of the assembly, which was also reflected in the strategic sessions, was the shift “from action to transformation.” The alliance is now focused not only on increasing the number of projects but also on achieving lasting structural changes, such as developing joint systems and capacities, creating an integrated European academic ecosystem, and achieving measurable impact on education, research, and society. In this context, EULiST has set the goal of becoming a fully integrated European university by 2035 with a tangible impact on talent, knowledge, regions, and society.

EULiST is a European university alliance bringing together ten universities from various European countries. The name stands for “European Universities Linking Society and Technology,” and its main goal is to connect technology, science, and society through interdisciplinary education and international collaboration. The Slovak University of Technology is also a member of the alliance.
The General Assembly is one of the alliance’s most important meetings. Every year, university leaders, academics, researchers, and students gather there to discuss EULiST’s strategy, planned activities, and new initiatives. The program in Finland included expert discussions, presentations of project results, and networking among the various partners.
