Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU), Department of International Relations provides for the students interested in study in some of the STU faculties ”PREPARATORY MODULE COURSE FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS STUDYING AT STU“.
The course has been accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic under No. 3182/2010/130/2.
The course is available in both English and Slovak; in English it is designed for applicants studying in English language at the selected faculty of STU, in Slovak it is designed for all those studying in Slovak language at the selected faculty of STU.
The course consists of eight professionally aimed modules. The module is a package of structured teaching texts, tasks (case studies, model situations, control questions) and experience (knowledge, competences) compiled for achieving the aims designed for specific groups of participants in education.

The content of individual modules consists of the selected themes, which provide for participants in the course a basis for their further study at STU. The teachers demonstrate the subject matter in interactive methods, give lectures, set tasks and assess the work of participants in the course. The primary aim of each module is to secure that the students can master the problems of the respective modules in such a way as to be able to implement without problems all the achieved knowledge and skills in practice.
The participants of the educational programme may choose from the modules offered those that will be vital for them in pursuing the field of study at the selected faculty of the STU.
Minimum number of participants: 6 – 8 participants in a course to start the teaching
Conditions of admission: secondary education completed with secondary school-leaving certificate.
Forms of education: the introductory lectures on thematic areas and themes of the study, exercises aimed at achieving the knowledge, procedures, information, experience and approaches, consultations with teachers (personal, written, on-line),individual study of professional literature on individual modules.
Form of final examination: consists of a theoretical part (written – final test and written – directed student teacher interview). The completing of the educational programme (module) improves the conditions for mastering the admission examinations and the subsequent study at the selected faculty at STU.
Completion of the educational programme: After the successful completion of the educational programme (module) the student will receive a certificate on its completing.
MODULES AIMED AT SLOVAK LANGUAGE:
Module Slovak Language (MSL/A1 for beginners 50 hours and MSJ/A2 for advanced 50 hours (price for course 330,00 €)
Module Slovak Language Intensive (MSLI) 240 hours (price for course 750,00 €)
All graduates will obtain the necessary vocabulary, ability of communication in oral and written form, basic professional terminology in the fields of technical fields study and professional knowledge and skills needed for successful mastering the study.
