The Slovak University of Technology is accredited according to new Standards

The internal quality assurance system of higher education at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and its implementation is in accordance with the Standards. The decision was made by the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (SAAVŠ). STU thus received accreditation according to new Standards, which will enable flexible changes of the existing study programmes and formation of new ones.

The preparation and implementation of the STU internal quality assurance system of education was a demanding process lasting several years. The SAAVŠ working group expertly assessed the documents provided by STU. After visiting the University, the Agency's working group prepared an evaluation report assessing, among other issues, the level of meeting individual standards, and provided recommendations for further improvement. The entire process has culminated by the SAAVŠ’s decision on the compliance of the STU internal quality assurance system with the Standards.

"We accept the SAAVŠ decision with joy and satisfaction. For STU, it means a significant step forward, also within the framework of our membership in EULiST, the alliance of European universities. The acquired accreditation will enable more flexible modification of the existing study programmes and formation of new ones without the need for their subsequent approval by the Agency," responded Oliver Moravčík, STU Rector.

The new accreditation entitles STU to form, implement and modify study programmes

1. in the study field of Architecture and Urban Planning in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
2. in the study field of Safety Science in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
3. in the study field of Biotechnology in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
4. in the study field of Chemical Engineering and Technology in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
5. in the study field of Chemistry in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
6. in the study field of Economics and Management in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
7. in the study field of Electrical Engineering in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
8. in the study field of Geodesy and Cartography in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
9. in the study field of Informatics in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
10. in the study field of Cybernetics in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
11. in the study field of Mathematics in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
12. in the study field of Food Science in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
13. in the study field of Agriculture and Landscape Design in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
14. in the study field of Spatial Planning in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
15. in the study field of Civil Engineering in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
16. in the study field of Mechanical Engineering in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education,
17. in the study field of Art in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees of higher education.

STU will ensure the compliance with Standards, which will be supervised by SAAVŠ.
