On 19 July 2016, Robert Redhammer, the STU Rector received His Excellency Jun Shimmi the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Slovak Republic. The meeting attended also by Ms. Tomoe Komatsu, cultural Attaché, and Štefan Stanko, STU Vice-Rector was devoted to further possible cooperation in the field of developing joint scientific activities of the Japanese universities and STU, regarding the demands of industry. The Ambassador declared an interest in cooperation and assistance in obtaining further contacts.
So far, STU has signed four agreements of cooperation with four universities in Japan.
