From Knowledge to Innovation
We cordially invite you to the Learning & Teaching Forum STU 2026, held under the motto From Knowledge to Innovation, which will take place on 26 March 2026 in the Academician Bella Hall at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
The event is organised on the occasion of Teachers’ Day and represents an expression of recognition and gratitude to STU educators for their professional, pedagogical, and societal role in shaping future generations of technical experts.
Why should you attend?
The Learning & Teaching Forum STU 2026 is a meeting point for trends, inspiration, and experience from educational practice, with the aim of advancing higher education from knowledge to innovation.
Participation in the Forum will offer you:
- an overview of the vision and strategic direction of technical education at STU,
- concrete examples of the use of artificial intelligence in teaching that can support educators and enhance the quality of education,
- practical insights into teaching Generation Z – their expectations, motivation, and communication in the classroom,
- a discussion on an attractive academic career and new information about the doctoral school,
- an opportunity to share experiences with colleagues across STU faculties and to engage in discussions with the university leadership and invited experts.
Main thematic blocks of the Forum
Block I – Vision for Technical Education
The future of technical education, its societal significance, and the role of the teacher in a changing academic environment.
Block II – Trends in Teaching
Generation Z, digital tools, AI in the classroom, and the search for balance between innovation and teaching quality.
Block III – Academic Career
The attractiveness of an academic path built on research and teaching, and how to sustainably manage the challenges of “teaching, publishing, and grant acquisition”.
Each block will include panel discussions, creating space for open dialogue and the exchange of perspectives.
Informal closing
At the conclusion of the Forum, we warmly invite you to a reception, offering an opportunity for informal networking, personal meetings, and continued discussions in a pleasant atmosphere.
The Learning & Teaching Forum STU 2026 is intended for all STU educators, doctoral candidates interested in an academic career, and managers involved in the development of education at the university.
