Academic year is divided into two semesters: winter semester and summer semester.
Introduction to study is intended for students enrolled in first year of bachelor study programmes, while the specific date is assigned by the dean of the faculty or the director of Institute of Management, respectively.
Teaching period consists 13 weeks in each semester.
In justified cases, the dean of the STU faculty or the director of the STU Institute of Management may determine in the academic year schedule for the relevant part of STU the implementation of selected educational activities within the subject, which are provided in the form of block teaching, also during the first two weeks of the academic year.
Selected educational activities, which are excursions, professional practice and internships, may also be carried out during the holidays.
Examination period consists 7 weeks in each semester. The last week of the examination period is intended mainly for students with specific needs, first and second-degree students with an individual study plan, and for making alternative dates for exams.
The number of vacation days is 48 (working days).
