Module: computer support for design and production The aim of the education in this module is to provide graduates with the knowledge and skills to master the complex issues of CA systems and CA technologies used in the preparation and management of production, including the ability to complete them, modify them for special requirements and create specialized applications and superstructures, with the ability to perform and lead teams implementing engineering computer analysis, simulation of production processes, design production units using computer support, can also work as a leader of work teams using computer technology in the field of technical preparation of production and apply as a company manager and private entrepreneur in the field of application of computer technology and CA systems, preferably in areas of production support. https://www.portalvs.sk/sk/studijny-program/pocitacova-podpora-navrhu-a-vyroby The graduate will receive a complete first-degree university education in the field of Production Technology with an orientation to mechanical production, including maintenance and means of mechanization and automation. He will understand engineering technologies and the tools used. He will have knowledge of the basics of management, environmental studies, safety and health protection at work, he will be able to solve problems in the field of technical materials, their properties, as well as machine mechanics. He will be prepared either for the study of the second-level production equipment and systems study program or for immediate entry into the labor market. The graduate will find employment as a designer of automated production systems and equipment, or as a technologist, an independent entrepreneur in engineering services or as a specialist in various places of production and technology sections. https://www.portalvs.sk/sk/studijny-program/vyrobne-zariadenia-a-systemy

Skillset

Graduates have practical skills from applications of CAx systems for production design, design of technological workplaces, for automated design of technological procedures, for design and production of shape-complex components for the automotive or aviation industry. He knows how to use modern 3D computer software CAD, CAQ, CAM, CAE, CAA and modern CNC machines and 3D printers. He develops his skills in the field of simulations of machining processes and simulations of forming processes. He has the opportunity to practically verify all the knowledge acquired during his studies on many devices and machines that are available in the laboratories and the Center of Excellence for 5-axis machining. Graduates have practical skills from the inspection of engineering components, where they can apply optical 3D scanning, computer tomography, reverse engineering and coordinate optical measurement. In the area of CAA, they will acquire skills from the design of products in terms of assembly, design of assembly workplaces and systems. They have skills in software used in computer support for assembly.

Competencies

The graduate is able to solve complex problems with a high degree of independence, especially in the technical and production area, but also in the organizational and management workshop area. It can optimize production processes. He is able to identify the key, especially technological, causes of problems and subsequently propose corrective measures of a technological nature that lead to an increase in productivity, a reduction in costs and the overall efficiency of the technological process. The graduate has the ability to apply the acquired skills for the design of complex shaped parts, is able to design a technological production process, generate a CNC program for the production of parts, design an inspection plan, apply and evaluate the measurement procedure and design assembly procedures for products. He is able to effectively solve specific problems that arise in the CAD-CAM-CNC-CAQ-CAA chain. The graduate masters the most modern ICT, which he is able to use in his practice.
