Graduate Profile

Knowledge

Graduates of the Computer-Aided Production Technologies study program will acquire knowledge from basic natural science, technical and technological disciplines, management as well as knowledge from information technologies for an application approach to the use of computing technology. This knowledge is organically followed by the study of profiling subjects, primarily from production technologies, computer support for production technologies, computer support for CAA assembly, computer support for CAQ quality, with an emphasis on practical skills and abilities. Previous knowledge is supplemented with knowledge in the field of mechanics, which is necessary for the specific solution of tasks, projects and the final work. The organic connection of the study of natural sciences, economics and management disciplines with the study of technical, technological and computer disciplines creates the prerequisites for the best possible application in practice for graduates. The study plan of the study program is built on the basis of current knowledge of science and is a good basis for a possible continuation on the engineering degree.

Skillset

Graduates have practical skills from the application of CAx systems for the design, production and control of shape-complex components for the automotive or aviation industry. He knows how to use modern 3D computer software CAD, CAQ, CAM, CAE, CAA and modern CNC machines and 3D printers. He has the opportunity to practically verify all the knowledge acquired during his studies on many devices and machines that are available in the laboratories. Graduates have practical skills from the inspection of engineering components where they can apply optical 3D scanning, computer tomography, reverse engineering and coordinate optical measurement. In the area of CAA, they will acquire skills from the design of products in terms of assembly, design of assembly workplaces and systems. They have skills in software used in computer support for assembly.

Competencies

The graduate has the ability to apply the acquired skills for the design of complex shaped parts, is able to design a technological production process, generate a CNC program for the production of parts, design an inspection plan, apply and evaluate the measurement procedure and design assembly procedures for products. He is able to effectively solve specific problems that arise in the CAD-CAM-CNC-CAQ-CAA chain. The graduate masters the most modern ICT, which he is able to use in his practice.

Profile courses

Employability of graduates

Graduates are able to apply themselves in the implementation and operation of production-technological systems as CAD/CAM technologists, workers of CA technology offices, designers of production tools and preparations, in the field of technical preparation of production and in programming of CNC technology and production systems. Graduates of the study program are already interested on the part of businesses and companies during their studies, and therefore they will mostly be employed in their field. Results on graduates graduating in 2019 (Data as of 30 June 2020) Number of graduates 46 (98% men, 2% women) Employed 2% Continuing studies 96% Others (working abroad, voluntarily unemployed) 2% https://uplatnenie.sk/?degree=V%C5%A0&vs=702000000&faculty=702060000&field=2305R02&year=2019

Examples of professions the graduate is prepared for

A graduate of the study program "Computer-Aided Production Technologies" is qualified to practice the profession of "Mechanical technologist" with advanced skills in controlling computer technology, CAx systems and CAx technologies used in the preparation and management of production. He is able to independently create technical documentation and design with computer support (Mechanical Specialist Designer, Designer), create programs for CNC-controlled production machines (CNC Programming Specialist). The graduate can model complex 3D products and simulate the preparation of their production, can be applied in the implementation and operation of production-technological systems, as a CAD/CAM technologist, designer of production tools, fixtures and aids, in the field of technical preparation of production and in programming NC technology and production systems using computer technology and appropriate software (Engineering specialist technologist).
