Employability of graduates

The applicability of graduates is one of the monitored aspects of assessing education in terms of content and quality. Most students already work externally on projects or contracts of specialized construction, design, production or research companies during their studies. In the long run, there is no shortage of job offers for students during their studies (before their completion). Companies offer students not only the opportunity to get acquainted with the portfolio of their work (e.g. in professional short-term work stays), but also by offering topics for dissertations. Students very often solve such topics of their final theses with a view to securing a job position in the company, where they then continue smoothly as employees on the same project, the partial solution of which was e.g. Final thesis. The applicability of graduates of the Applied Mechanics study program is often tested by production and research companies by announcing competitions for the best work in the field (eg Slovnaft, Slovak Maintenance Company, Slovak Gas and Oil Association, etc.), where graduates have received several awards. However, the employment of graduates is not only in production activities (employees, employers, SZČO, etc.), but also in continuing additional specialized education, where graduates purposefully increase their potential for employment in the labor market by obtaining new, higher qualifications for various more demanding occupations. To find out the applicability of graduates of the study program Applied Mechanics, it would be possible to use publicly available statistics on the website - https://www.uplatnenie.sk/ . Due to the small number of graduates ending annually (2-5 graduates), the report page does not publish "Due to the low number of graduates in the selected combination of criteria, it is not possible to display the required data." Graduates of the Applied Mechanics study program are not among the unemployed in the periodically published employment / unemployment statistics (Social Insurance Agency, Labor Offices, Profesia, LinkedIn, etc.) by field of study and specialization. On the portals and in the offer systems of job positions, there are offers for graduates of the mentioned study program for important job positions (offers with an indication of preference directly from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering STU in Bratislava).

Examples of professions the graduate is prepared for

According to the system of professions and the register of jobs, the number of professions for which the graduate of the study program Applied Mechanics has competencies are listed at (https://www.sustavapovolani.sk/register_zamestnani ), (National System of Qualifications - https://www.kvalifikacie.sk/kartoteka-kariet-kvalifikacii#/ ) or on the job portal https://www.profesia.sk/ .

Examples of successful graduates

any names of successful graduates. Graduates work at all levels of production and management positions with regard to the length of work experience, career opportunities and available positions in domestic and foreign / international companies (from employees in production positions, as well as managerial positions of middle and top management of companies). It would not be effective to state specific names of companies and positions held, on request we can submit documents proving successful graduates who state in education that they are graduates of the study program of the degree of Applied Mechanics and Mechatronics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering STU in Bratislava.

Statements of employers or regulators

At the request of the Chairman of the Study Program Council, several representatives of major industrial companies who have detailed work experience and the level of knowledge of graduates commented on the applicability of graduates and the quality of the Applied Mechanics study program. Representatives of Slovnaft a.s. Bratislava, Duslo a.s. Šala, BMW group, Audi AG, Volkswagen AG, SPP a.s., Airbus company, Bosch GmbH, Magna Steyr Graz, Škoda Mladá Boleslav, Knott s.r.o., Datalan s.r.o. The conclusions from the opinions are positive regarding the applicability of the graduates as well as the proven knowledge acquired during the study. The quality of studies is also evidenced by specific job offers (for graduates) directly delivered to the Institute of Applied Mechanics and Mechatronics, FME STU– testimonial. No
