Skillset

A graduate of the Integrated Safety doctoral study program knows and is able to: • process scientific documentation in the field of integrated security, • apply scientific knowledge from the fields of fire and explosion theory, risk management methods, environmental science and environmental chemistry, extinguishing agents and fire safety, toxicology, remedial technologies and waste management or environmental protection and safety, • process and solve scientific problems in the area of safety and designing safer workplaces, environmental studies, • process scientific documentation related to occupational health and safety, environmental science and fire engineering and related legislation, • propose scientific solutions to problems in the field of safety, fire and environmental engineering, • process scientific documentation related to the requirements of the working environment in the field of environmental science and safety, • work scientifically with dangerous substances, assess and determine their properties and, based on their properties, propose scientific solutions for handling these substances, • analyze, evaluate and manage risks and draw scientific conclusions from the facts found based on own findings, • scientifically assess the quality in the field of safety and environment and increase its level, • apply knowledge and propose scientific solutions in the field of workplace safety and dedicated technical equipment, • determine the parameters of the working environment and propose scientific solutions to increase safety, • determine and critically assess the fire-technical characteristics of the workplace and working environment and can scientifically process documentation related to fire engineering.

Competencies

A graduate of the Integrated Safety study program has the ability to: • work independently as a leading authorized safety technician, mastering the basics in the field of safety, environment and fire protection, • work independently as a fire protection technician and as an expert for serious industrial accidents, • independently scientifically analyze problems in the field of safety and the environment and propose scientific innovative solutions in the monitored areas, • work independently as a scientific expert in scientific institutions at universities in Slovakia and abroad, • keep professional and scientific documentation of the production company in the field of safety, environment and fire protection. At the end of the study, the graduate of the doctoral degree prepares a dissertation related to safety, fire protection and the environment in order to demonstrate the scientific knowledge and knowledge acquired during the study.

Profile courses

Employability of graduates

Graduates of the study program Integrated safety, 3rd degree, will be employed in practice as experts in the field of safety and health protection at work, fire engineering and environmental engineering. The share of students who find employment after studying at the second level is at the level of 100%. A substantial part of students with excellent results (approx. 20%) find employment in scientific institutions in Slovakia and abroad (academies of sciences, universities...)

Examples of professions the graduate is prepared for

A graduate of the doctoral degree will apply as an independent researcher in the field of occupational health and safety. It can be applied in the field of research in this field all over the world, as well as in the field of colleges and universities. He can independently design and solve problems in the field of health and safety and thus can also be employed in high management functions related to health and safety and environmental technologies.
