Knowledge

Graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme Automotive Mechatronics has knowledge of mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanics and machine construction corresponding to the level of a qualified and creative mechatronics engineer; has knowledge of the principles of mechatronic systems in terms of cyber-physical modelling, automatic control, electronics, mechanics, programming, as well as mechatronic systems design.

Skillset

Graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme Automotive Mechatronics is able to actively acquire information, prepare documents and use them to solve practical tasks in the subject field; is able to analyse given technical problems and find solutions to practical tasks using a mechatronics-enabled comprehensive view of the problem,; is able to draw up technical documentation of solved problems.

Competencies

Graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme Automotive Mechatronics is prepared to independently solve mechatronic systems related tasks using control and communication systems and with the support of intelligent technologies; is able to think analytically and creatively approach problems solving in different areas of mechatronics; is able to independently plan and organise his/her work; is able to defend his/her own opinion on the solved problem .

Employability of graduates

Graduate of the study programme Automotive Mechatronics can continue his/her engineering or master's studies in follow-up study programmes or related specialization programmes specialization. With his/her universal knowledge and skills, he/she will find employment in industrial practice, in the development, design and operation of mechatronic systems in all areas of social life, especially in automotive as well as in production processes, in the design, development, diagnostics and operation of complex mechatronic systems and in technical-economic and managerial processes.

Most of the graduates of the Study Programme Automotive Mechatronics continued their studies at the engineering degree at the Study Programme Applied Mechatronics and Electromobility.

Evaluation by employers' representatives at the SP Board held on 31.5.2021: "The Automotive Mechatronics study programme reflects the requirements not only of the automotive industry in Slovakia, but also companies engaged in general mechatronics, diagnostics, industrial production and automation, intelligent technologies and systems. Due to the nature of the profile courses, we see the graduates´employability () not only in mechatronic systems engineering but also in the field of automatic systems of production processes and their digitization. Automotive Mechatronics graduates have the theoretical knowledge and other prerequisites for continuing their scientific activity within the framework of doctoral studies. The study programme has been designed in accordance with current requirements and provides a good foundation for the employment of graduates to in our companies."A positive opinion on the compliance of the acquired qualification with the requirements of the sector has been provided by the companies TESTEK s.r.o., Volkswagen Bratislava, Siemens.
