Laboratory of heat flows The laboratory is intended for monitoring heat flows within the study of fire-technical properties of substances and materials. The laboratory has the following devices: The conical calorimeter is a device designed to monitor the rate of heat release based on the amount of oxygen consumed during combustion according to the ISO 5660 standard. The monitored parameters are the time until the initiation of flame combustion, as well as the time until the end of flame combustion. After the initiation of combustion, the oxygen consumption is measured, on the basis of which the rate of heat release is calculated. The IKA C 4000 adiabatic calorimeter is used to determine the heat of combustion (calorific value) of a sample in adiabatic conditions. The FlexyTSC + SEDEX safety calorimeter serves for the sensitive detection of thermal reactions in substances and mutually reacting mixtures under various industrial conditions. The possibility of monitoring the pressure and flow of gas components. Laboratory of combustion processes The laboratory is intended for monitoring thermal events within the study of fire engineering properties of substances and materials. The laboratory has the following devices: The FLUKE Ti55 thermal camera is designed for non-contact measurement of the surface temperature of materials from 20 to 600 °C. The 2RS-4 vacuum and vacuum chamber is used for degassing of molded products and for infiltration of various polymers into the matrix. Chamber suitable for stabilizing lignocellulosic materials and bones, for working with alcohol, ethanol, acetone and acrylic-based monomers or polymers. The Pensky-Martens closed cup is used to test the flash point using a closed cup. It is standardized as ASTM D 93, IP 34, ISO 2719. The digital hardness tester Sauter HD A/D is intended for measuring the hardness of materials up to the hardness of rigid plastics. The device meets the standards: Din 53505, ISO 868 and ISO 7619.
