Profile courses

Employability of graduates

A graduate can apply in the fields requiring to quantify various processes, to create electronic system eveluating / visualizing data, based on collected information, or to interrupt the process, even outside of electrical engineering industry. The advantage of this study programme graduate is deep knowledge and skills in manufacturing electrical and electronic devices and electromagnetic systems of low and gigh frequencies. A graduate of Study programme Applied electrical engineering is able to independently analyze and asses a technical problem, design, manufacture, calibrate and put the electrical device into operation. First graduates of SP Applied electrical engineering entered the labor market in year 2018. At first only five graduates succeded the study programme, in 2019 four graduates and in 2020 five graduates.

Examples of professions the graduate is prepared for

Electromechanic specialist, Designer of non-standard measurement systems, Material technologist in electrical engineering, Control specialist in quality of testing equipment, Quality control specialist in electrical engineering, Electrical engineering specialist in research and development, Manager (manager) in electrical engineering production.

Examples of successful graduates

Of the fourteen graduates of the Applied Electrical Engineering programme, five have started their doctoral studies (3x in Electromagnetic Field Theory, 1x in Measurement Technology and 1x in Physical Engineering at the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Slovak Academy of Sciences). Other graduates are currently working e.g. as Head of the Production Engineering, Sensus Slovensko a.s., specialist of the electrical engineering technical department and engineering, Foss Fibre Optics, s.r.o., or Full stack developer at IBM Slovensko, s.r.o.

Statements of employers or regulators

Rating by representatives of employers given at the meeting of Study programme Board taking place on February 25th 2021: „Demands and requirements of companies focused on design and manufacture of electronic systems and devices are well represented in Study programme Applied electrical engineering. Applicability of graduates (based on profile subjects taken) can be seen further in the field of engineering, measurement technology, radiofrequency technology, control and diagnostics technology, as well as in every field where new systems and devices are being put into operation. Applied electrical engineering programme graduates have thorough knowledge of theoretical background and are well fit to continue their studies in scientific sector at doctoral studies. To ensure an applicability and versatility of its graduates, the study programme is built-up taking into consideration current demands and requirements, and gives a good foundation for employment in our companies.“ Meeting Minutes of Study programme board meeting is here: https://is.stuba.sk/dok_server/slozka.pl?id=215274Standpoint of company RMC s.r.o., as a representative for private sector, regarding the match between aquired qualification and requirements / demands in commercial sector: https://is.stuba.sk/dok_server/slozka.pl?id=215279
