Knowledge

The graduate of the bachelor program in the Applied Informatics study program will acquire the following knowledge and skills. In addition to the necessary knowledge of mathematics, economics and management, the graduate has knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, logical systems, algorithm design and programming, data collection, processing and transmission, and information system diagnostics. The graduate has knowledge of information and communication networks, the graduate will master the methods of creating models and simulating systems and processes. The graduate has the practical capabilities and skills to effectively apply the acquired knowledge in the development and application of informatics methods and tools, in many relevant application domains.

Skillset

The graduate is able to analyze, implement, modify and modernize computer and information systems. The graduate can critically analyze and apply the entire range of concepts, principles and practices of information systems development, the graduate can make effective decisions when choosing and using methods, techniques and means of informatics. The graduate is able to find solutions to problems arising in the design and use of information systems with a focus on the security of information systems, as well as in business operation and management. The graduate can follow the development of computer and information technology and update his knowledge and skills. The graduate knows at least one world language. The graduate has basic knowledge of the economic, legal, moral, ethical, social, environmental aspects of the field of study.

Competencies

The graduate is ready to solve and present complex projects independently as well as a member of a team, work effectively as a member of a development team, take up positions such as manager, analyst, system designer and specialist in banking, insurance, consulting firms, industry, higher education, scientific and research institutions. The graduate will be able to find jobs in the design and application of information systems in all types of businesses, in organizations and services, in the private sector, banking, transport, healthcare, etc.
