The graduate of the Study Field Mathematics Study Program Applied Mathematics • has deep theoretical and methodological knowledge and practical experience in key areas of applied mathematics at the state-of-the-art level of research in the world, in particular in areas such as mathematical modelling, numerical methods, uncertainty modelling and discrete mathematics; • in addition to a systematic, coherent and comprehensive body of knowledge in the specialized area, he/she understands relationships to other parts of mathematics and to related application disciplines; • has theoretical and methodological knowledge which can be used as a basis for innovation and originality in research and in practice, and in the designing of research and development at the top international level; • knows the principles of independent scientific work and scientific teamwork, research, formulation of scientific problems and hypotheses, solving complex scientific problems and presentation of scientific results; • can formulate, analyze and solve difficult and non-standard tasks in mathematics and, above all, bring original, new solutions; • due to the interdisciplinary nature of the discipline, he/she can also formulate and solve mathematical problems of other scientific disciplines;

The graduate of the Study Field Mathematics Study Program Applied Mathematics • can lead scientific, research and development teams, and domestic and international projects, and take responsibility for complex solutions of scientific and research problems; • can identify the latest scientific and research and development trends in applying mathematics in natural, technical, economic, computer and social sciences and supplement and update his/her knowledge through lifelong learning; • can communicate and cooperate with scientific project managers and specialists from other scientific disciplines; • can create and formulate new hypotheses, judgements and strategies for further development of the scientific discipline; • can evaluate theories, concepts and innovations in the field of applied mathematics; • can design, verify and implement new research approaches and working practices;
