Employability of graduates

The graduate of the Study Program Theory and Design of Civil Engineering Structures is characterized by critical, independent and analytical thinking in changing climatic conditions and by the ability to present the results of research and development to professional or scientific national and international community. He/she can initiate the solution of complex problems including the formulation of objectives, means and methods in development and innovation in the construction industry. He/she is capable of scientific work in international team. Due to the versatility of the Study Program Theory and Design of Civil Engineering Structures, the graduate can be employed in all countries of the European Union in the construction industry, wherever a third-degree university education is required. The advantage of the graduate of this study program is a broad-spectrum knowledge starting with the rock and environment survey, designing of civil engineering constructions and transport infrastructure and ending with the realization and management of complex engineering and transport constructions. Graduates of the study program find employment in all relevant sectors of the economy - in the private, public and state sectors. They can use their English language skills for international cooperation in the construction industry, especially in positions of specialists in solving various problems related to the design of complex civil engineering and geotechnical constructions associated with high risk, in solving requirements for increasing safety, structural resistance and prolonging the service life of civil engineering, transport and geotechnical constructions. Graduates can find employment at home and abroad in scientific and educational institutions as well as in international construction companies.
