Profile courses

Employability of graduates

The basis for the successful employment of doctoral graduates in industry is the structure and quality of the educational process characterized by a high proportion of project works of scientific nature, experimental research and presentation of achieved results. The employability of doctoral graduates is currently very high, with graduates holding positions in the research and development departments of domestic, foreign and multinational companies. The employability of students of SP Energy Machinery and Equipment offered at SjF STU in Bratislava can also be verified from publicly available sources, for example on the website https://uplatnenie.sk/. However, it is not possible to obtain the outputs of the analytical page in recent years, because the number of engineering graduates is low and therefore the data cannot be processed into a relevant result.

Examples of professions the graduate is prepared for

A graduate of the doctoral study program Energy Machinery and Equipment in the study field Mechanical Engineering has knowledge and experience with scientific and publishing work, as well as pedagogical practice enabling graduates of doctoral studies to apply in the research and development base of mechanical engineering, in the industry, or to pursue a scientific-pedagogical career at university of mechanical engineering in Slovakia or abroad. The complexity of the profile of graduates guarantees their problem-free application in the manufacturing and technological industries as well as in the contiguous areas of today's information society. The graduate of the study program Energy Machinery and Equipment is able to find employment in activities related to production, construction, operation, design, development, increase of energy systems efficiency, reducing their energy needs, and especially at solving problems related to the development of new technologies and systems for energy. He is able to communicate in a world language and thus find application not only at home but also abroad as: - independent creative designer or consultant, - scientist or researcher, - university teacher.

Examples of successful graduates

Graduates of the doctoral degree study programme are employed in management functions and as employees of development departments in industrial enterprises at home and abroad. Some of the graduates have also taken up teaching careers at universities. The table below lists the graduates of the programme who are working in important functions/positions in selected industrial enterprises. Name Company Function/Position Ing. Matej Kurilla, PhD. Statements of employers or regulators

Based on a questionnaire survey results, which is regularly carried out by the study program director, it can be stated that employers are satisfied with the quality of graduates of the study program, especially in terms of professional knowledge and acquired skills. The answers of the addressed companies (EUSTREAM, PRAKTIKPUMP, Palfinger, Vodné elektrárne Trenčín, Bratislavská teplárenská) also resonate with the demand for regular updating of the educational process in the light of current developments in the field of energy machinery and equipment. They are not aplicable, it is not a preparation for regulated professions
