Profile courses

Employability of graduates

Graduates of the Electrical Power Engineering study program can continue their engineering or master's studies in subsequent study programs or in programs of a related focus. The universality of this bachelor's study program allows the graduate to be employed in all countries of the European Union in the industry related to electrical engineering and wherever a first-level university education is required. Graduates can also work in related industrial fields (construction, mechanical engineering, transport, environmental science, etc.), where the cooperation of these industries with energy or acquired competences of the graduate. The advantage of a graduate of this study program is broad-spectrum knowledge, the trajectory of which extends from acquired basic knowledge in the field of functioning and economics of energy systems through specific areas such as renewable sources, electric machines, issues of power plants, high voltages and lighting technology up to specific domains such as use of top simulation tools for modeling phenomena in the electricity system. The graduate understands and knows how to implement acquired skills and habits in various technical areas. Graduates of the study program find employment on the labor market in all relevant sectors of the economy - in the private, public and state sectors, especially in the positions of designers, developers and technicians in various types of companies or in independent work.

Examples of professions the graduate is prepared for

Specialist electrical designer, Designer of electrical equipment, Technician of automated control systems of energy equipment, Energetic technologist, Specialist of safety management in energy operations (except nuclear), Technician of hydroelectric power plant operation.

Examples of successful graduates

The absolute majority of graduates of SP Electrical Power Engineering continues their studies in a follow-up master degree study at FEI STU in SP Electrical Power Engineering.
