Monika Bakošová is a graduate of the Slovak University of Technology, Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology (FCHPT), study programme Processes, Equipment and Automation of Chemical Production (Ing./Master degree), and the field of Technical Cybernetics (CSc./Doctoral degree). She has been with the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava since 1986. She was a research fellow (STU Institute of Biotechnology, until 1991), a researcher (STU Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology, until 1992), a senior assistant (STU Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology, until 1999) and an Associate Professor (STU Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology until now). She habilitated in the field of Chemical Engineering and Process Management (1999). She has attended research stays in DTH, Denmark, and ETH, Switzerland. She can fluently communicate in English. Her research and pedagogical activities are professionally oriented on the process automation, modelling, simulation and control, with special emphasis on advanced methods of process control. She has supervised 21 Bachelor theses, 20 Master theses and 4 successfully defended dissertations.
She is a co-author of one monograph, two university textbooks and 74 outputs in WoS, including 15 A-type publications. She has got more than 200 citations in WoS and Scopus, h-index 10. She has been a principle researcher in four VEGA projects and two bilateral APVV projects. She has been a member of several conference program committees. She is a reviewer of several journals (Automatica, IEEE Trans. On Automatic Control, J. Process Control, Applied Thermal Engineering, Energy and others). Since 2008, she has co-guaranteed the Process Control doctoral study programme within the field of Automation at the STU Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology. Since 2004, she has been an STU Commission member in the 5.2.14 Automation study field. Since 2011, she has been a member of the STU FCHPT Scientific Board. She was a member (2004-2008) and a Vice-President of the STU FCHPT Academic Senate (2008-2011). Since 2018, she has been the Chair of the STU FCHPT Development Foundation Supervisory Board. In the period 2011-2019, she worked as an STU FCHPT Vice-Dean for full-time and part-time Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degrees, student mobility, extra forms of education and social care for students.
