The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava is the best technical university in Slovakia. In the global Subject Ranking 2026 published by the renowned QS Ranking agency, which evaluates universities by individual fields, STU ranked 501st - 550th in the Engineering and Technology category.
Of the study fields provided by STU, 16 were evaluated by the QS ranking agency and STU ranked in five of them.
For the first time, three STU study fields ranked in the top 500 worldwide: Mechanical Engineering (401st - 450th place), Materials Science (401st - 550th place) and Electrical Engineering (451st - 500th place). In each of the evaluated fields, STU received more points than last year, when STU had one study field in the top 500.
"This shift and the placement of the STU portfolio study fields in the world ranking show that high-quality technical education can be obtained also in Slovakia. There is something to build upon and get motivation to be even better," responded Maximilián Strémy, the STU Rector.
In addition, STU was ranked as the best among Slovak universities also in the field of Mathematics at 501st-600th place in the world, as well as Computer Science at 651st-700th place worldwide.
