The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hong Kong City University, which is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings.

The memorandum was signed by Katarína Smatanová, the STU Vice-Rector for Public Relations and International Cooperation, and Jennifer Lin, the City UHK Vice-Rector for Global Strategy.
The new strategic partnership opens up space for cooperation in education, research, student and teacher mobility and joint projects. The intersection between the universities on the STU side is represented mainly by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STU FEI), the Faculty of Civil Engineering (STU SVF), the Faculty of Architecture and Design (STU FAD), and the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology (STU MTF). Representatives of the CityUHK related departments present at signing the Memorandum subsequently attended a professional network meeting.

The STU delegation included Professor Vladimír Kutiš, Dean of the STU FEI , Associate Professor Jaroslav Kováč of the STU FEI and Dominika Repko, the Head of the International Relations Department.
The signing of the Memorandum represents a significant step in the internationalization of STU while strengthening its connections with leading universities in Asia. The cooperation will bring new opportunities for students, researchers and teachers, supporting thus the development of interdisciplinary topics with global impact.
