At the beginning of February, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava welcomed the Secretary General of the EULiST European University alliance, Dr. Natia Gamkrelidze. This marked her first official visit to Bratislava since taking office.

EULiST is an alliance of European universities within the European Universities initiative, connecting education, research, and innovation across countries. Its mission is to foster strong international cooperation and deliver joint solutions to today’s societal challenges.
The European university alliance brings STU stronger international partnerships, more opportunities for students and researchers, support for innovation, and an enhanced position within the European higher education landscape.
The meetings confirmed STU’s active and strategic role within the alliance and opened discussions on the future direction of our cooperation.
During her visit, Natia Gamkrelidze, PhD focused particularly on:
- onboarding the new EULiST Communication Manager, Gabriela Vlková,
- meeting with the EULiST team at STU and discussing its operations,
- holding talks with the STU leadership, faculty representatives, and students,
- research initiatives, sustainability topics, and start-up support.
Gabriela Vlková commented on the visit: “Natia knows EULiST inside and out. The time she spent with me helped me understand the alliance in deeper contexts, set goals in my new role, and define a strategy to achieve them.”
The Secretary General’s visit reaffirmed STU’s strong position within the EULiST alliance and laid a solid foundation for future joint projects, initiatives, and international collaboration.
