If the diploma is issued in a state that has signed an international agreement with the Slovak Republic (i.e. Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Romania, Ukraine) or is in the state of European Higher Education Area (Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Kingdom of Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Holy See, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy , Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Macedonia, Turkey, Ukraine, The United Kingdom and Belarus); then the university is obliged to recognize the education document automatically (the university may not order the applicant to sit for complementary exams or possibly to complete and defend a Bachelor, Magister/Engineer and Dissertation thesis).
The applicant is obliged to submit a certified translation of documents attached to the application in the state language according to Section 39 para. 5 of the Act.
The applicant for automatic recognition of diploma (under bilateral agreements or European Higher Education Area) within the meaning of § 39 par. 2 and 3 of the Act must submit:
completed online application

|3.||notary-verified copy of a diploma or other education document issued by a foreign higher education institution|
|4.||notary-verified copy of a diploma supplement (including a transcript of completed subjects/courses) or a certified copy of a transcript of completed subjects/courses and passed exams|
|5.||confirmation of payment of 20 € charge connected with recognition process. Fee is to be paid by a bank transfer or by a Slovak postal money order.|
