SmartCity 360 Summit was held at the premises of the Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava and at the Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel from 13th to 16th October 2015.
SmartCity 360 Summit was organized by the European Alliance for Innovation in Slovakia (EAI SK) and a research organisation Create-Net in cooperation with STU in Bratislava, which was represented by the rector prof. Ing. Robert Redhammer, Ph.D., vice-rector for Education and International Relations doc. Ing. Štefan Stanko, Ph.D. and dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology STU, prof. Dr. Ing. Jozef Peterka and also in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic.
The conference was covered by vice-president of the European Commission and Commissioner for Energy Union, JUDr. Maroš Šefčovič, Ph.D.
During the first day, the SmartCity 360 Summit took place in the premises of STU in Bratislava. It consisted of three parallel technical conferences: Sustainable Solutions Beyond Mobility of Goods (SustainableMoG), Social Innovation and Community Aspects of Smart Cities (SmartCity Com) and Mobility Opportunities in the Danube Region (MOBIDANUBE). The main aim of the first conference - SustainableMoG was to provide a space for discussion about the possibility of creating a sustainable balance and possible innovative solutions in logistics and supply chain. The conference chairs were prof. Ing. Radim Lenort, Ph.D., Ing. David Holman, Ph.D., Ing. David Stas, Ph.D. and Ing. Pavel Wicher, Ph.D.
SmartCity Com Conference offered an opportunity for discussion and exchange of experience through expert lectures between scientific community and experts from external businesses about the possibility of establishing the concept of sustainable development of smart cities. The conference chairs were doc. Ing. Daniela Špirková, Ph.D., prof. Paloma Taltavull de La Paz and prof. Dr. Erwin Van Der Krabben.
Main aim of the third conference - MOBIDANUBE was to increase cooperation in the field of smart cities research and nobilities between experts from academia, research institutions and industry in accordance to the Danube Strategy, the priority axis 7: Knowledge society- science, research, innovation and ICT. The program includes presentations of four internationally recognized experts in the field of integral innovation, digital media and the concept of smart cities. The conference chairs were doc. Mgr. Dagmar Cagáňová, Ph.D., who was also general co-chair of SmartCity 360 Summit together with prof. I. Chlamtač, EAI and CREATE-NET president.
The main purpose of the SmartCity 360 Summit was to share knowledge and experience in the field of innovation and technology through the expert presentations and panel discussions and main aim is to create a platform for international scientific cooperation. More than 100 representatives from the academic and research community, professional experience and governmental organizations, representatives from the French and the Canadian Embassy in Bratislava shared their thoughts and experience. This community was mainly dealing with issues and challenges connected with future smart cities. Summit participants came from more than 20 countries such as the United States, from Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Ireland, Great Britain, Belgium, Israel, Austria, France, Serbia, Spain, Poland, Italy, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
