Rectors of UK and STU agreed to completely close dormitories for Slovak students effective Friday, 13 March 2020 at 10 AM
Firstly, we would like to thank all the students who have respected our call to empty the dormitories during the weekend. By their responsible approach our students significantly lowered the risk of uncontrolled contagion.
At this moment there is only about 10% of students remaining, most of them international students. Dormitory administration is however facing the increasingly difficult task of ensuring safety of operation: there are no disinfectants and protection devices left on the market, and a significant number of staff had to stay at home because of closed kindergartens and elementary schools, or because of quarantine.
Our primary objective is to safeguard the health of students. That is why after analysis of current information and consulting with relevant expert authorities we have decided to completely close all dormitories. We ask all Slovak students to leave the dormitories until Friday 13 March 2020 at 10 AM. International students may remain. Slovak students in extraordinary circumstances can contact the Head Administrator and request permission to stay. Any visits are still strictly prohibited.
We thank everyone for understanding and cooperation!
