x "Education Beyond Borders", the largest international education event in the Balkans, was held in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, between 17-19 March 2017.

The exhibitors were 34 universities from all over the world, including the only Slovak institution: the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU). STU was represented by Mgr. Renáta Mezeiová, the head of the Department of International Relations and Ing. Ivan Prelovský, PhD., Erasmus+ institutional coordinator.

The opening ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests, including the representatives of the Bulgarian Government, Bulgarian Parliament, the city of Sofia and more than 15 foreign embassies in Bulgaria. In addition, the education event was supported and promoted by many media operating in Bulgaria. The courses and training activities provided by the participating institutions were presented in the publication written in Bulgarian and issued by the organizing Bery Group Bulgaria, a major education agency of Bulgaria.

The fair was open to all those interested in the study options within the university programmes and degrees in and beyond Europe. Presentations were delivered both in conventional stands as well as in working groups and sections, which enabled more intensive discussions about the options of future closer cooperation.

The STU representatives presented the University and its activities, individual faculties, study possibilities along with the scholarship and mobility options in order to draw the attention of the relevant target group - potential students from the Balkan region. The presented study opportunities in STU raised interest of both boys and girls.

In cooperation with the Departments of Public Relations, the Department of International Relations prepared an attractive exhibition cubicle of interesting design, and provided those interested in study and mobility with the promotional materials such as leaflets, brochures, pens, pencils and clip-on badges with the STU logo.

The STU participation at the fair and presentation of study opportunities in Slovakia to the Bulgarian students was highly appreciated Roman Roth, the Consul of the Slovak Embassy in Sofia, who personally supported the STU representatives at the fair.
