On 19 September 2017 the STU Department of International Relations (DIR) organized a meeting with the students, who are going to study at the STU in Bratislava within the frame of the Erasmus exchange programmes in the winter term of the academic year 2017/18. The main objective of this gathering was to provide comprehensive information to these students coming to our University.

The event was started by an opening address of the Head of the STU Department of International Relations Mgr. R. Mezeiová.  The vice-rector for education doc. Ing. Š. Stanko, PhD. welcomed the participants and in the initial part of his presentation he introduced the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. Subsequently the Erasmus+ institutional coordinator Ing. I. Prelovský, PhD. provided the Erasmus+ students with information about Slovakia, the University and the system of study.

The new employees of the STU Dpt. of International Relations Mgr. I. Gregorová and Mgr. D. Štepanovič expanded on the details that the Erasmus students will need both during their stay at our University and after the return to their alma mater. At the end of the meeting Bc. Zuzana Škutilová, President of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), talked about the leisure activities and the support and help that the ESN students will gladly provide to the coming Erasmus+ students.

Agenda:
1. Welcome address and introduction of the DIR employees
2. Information about Slovakia, PR video
3. Presentation of the STU and Erasmus+ activities
4. System of study at the STU

The Department of International Relations provided all the Erasmus+ students with promotion materials about Slovakia and the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava along with PR materials of the mobile operators Orange and Funfón.

Every year the STU Department of International Relations organizes meetings with Erasmus students coming on study trips to the STU. These meetings contribute to opening the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava to the international environment in line with the development of the university´s internationalisation strategy.

We would like to thank the Erasmus students for having participated in the seminar. We hope that the event made their arrival more pleasant and that they will successfully master their study at our education institution.  At the same time it is our big wish that the Erasmus students spread the information about the STU and about Slovakia primarily among their fellow students and the professors at the alma mater in their home countries.
