The President is the Head of State.

8 higher territorial units, 8 regions, 79 districts, 2,933 municipalities.

Euro (since 1 January 2009); 1 Euro (1 €) = 100 cents (100 c), banknotes issued in 500 €, 200 €, 100 €, 50 €, 20 €, 10 € and 5 € denominations; coins in 2 € and 1 € and 50 c, 20 c, 10 c, 5 c, 2 c and 1 c denominations.
